Daily as I do my morning meditation, I observe internal processes of my body and my mind. Noticing the sensations of the body as they arise. During these moments of calmness, we are learning to observe our present moment experience as it is without judging it or reacting to it. We are learning to recognise that the sensations we experience in our bodies have an impact on our mind and similarly the thoughts we observe have a direct impact on our emotions sometimes even manifesting as physical sensations.
Mindfulness practice is teaching us to come back when we get distracted and to stay when it’s difficult. Meditation is an experiential practice when our mind and our body is ‘rewiring’, so you probably won’t see the results over night, but the restructuring is happening just like to all my clients throughout the programs – there is always a moment when it all just clicks and it all comes together like a miraculous puzzle, the clarity, the peace – suddenly it all makes perfect sense and you are grateful for the perfection of your own unique journey.
Patience that you are cultivating because of it will grow as a quality that you can tap into any time. Patience for yourself, your practice and patience in daily life.
“Patience is the form of wisdom. It demonstrates that we understand that things must unfold in our own time, so trust in that unfolding” – (Jon Kabat-Zinn)
