10 Proven Reasons Why It’s Great To Be A Woman

10 Proven Reasons Why It’s Great To Be A Woman

by Lucia Hoxhain Fertility

Do you also have it? There are moments when I think men have it so much easier, than us and I even get stroppy about it with my husband… (he could tell you! 🙂) Sure, we carry our burdens, like the terrible symptoms of PMS and, of course, if you have children, the pain of birthing a child. But in the end? I wouldn’t have it any other way, and I know I’m not alone!

Nothing against being a man, which is great in it’s own way, but really…being a woman is pretty darn wonderful and I’m so pleased I’m raising two little women to share with them this great gift!

Women are strong in more ways than one. We’ve overcome so much throughout history, and there’s no stopping us now! Working moms, women who chose to not have children, women who can’t have their own children and chose to adopt or use a surrogate, stay-at-home-moms, single moms, women in non-traditional families, and all the other combinations and variations on all of these different lifestyles are all wonderful and should be celebrated. Womanhood doesn’t just mean one thing for everyone, and that’s the way it should be.

But as women, there are many things we do share, including those two X chromosomes. So, what has science, statistics, studies, and data proven about being a woman?

These 10 proven facts show that it’s great to be a woman.

Don’t you think it’s great to be a woman? Please SHARE with the women you love in your life!

1. Women Live Longer Lives
Of all the people over 100 years old, 85% are women. Women live longer than men on average, about 5 to 10 years longer.

2. Women Have Stronger Immune Systems
There is a microRNA on the X chromosomes in females that helps keep our immune systems nice and strong (stronger than that of men), which makes it difficult for all those germs and bacteria to make us sick.

3. Women Are Great Leaders
According to business experts, women make great leaders for many reasons, a few of them being the tendency to be open to communication and collaboration.

4. Women Handle Stress Well
Science shows that the estrogen in women’s bodies may help us handle stress very very well. Men tend to react with a fight or flight response, while women will “tend and befriend,” or reach out for social support.

5. Women Have A Great Capacity To Hold Onto Memories
Women are great at recalling details from early on in their lives. This may be due to the way we learned to tell stories when we were younger. While we were learning to tell stories, we were also learning how to hang onto memories – fascinating!

6. Women Are Cleaner
Experts reveal that women in general are known to be a bit cleaner than our male counterparts, but the reasoning may be a deep-seeded need to come off as clean, for fear of being judged for messiness.

7. Women Have Stronger Senses
Women have a stronger sense of scent than our male counterparts: “New research shows that women have more cells in the olfactory bulb – the area of the brain that is dedicated to the sense of smell – than men.”

8. Women Are Great At Multitasking
Men showed more expended energy when asked to multitask than women. This means that we can multitask more easily without expending so much mental energy.

9. Women Are More Financially Independent
According to a survey conducted by Harris Poll in 2014, more men are still financially dependent on their parents than women are, and women are less likely to still live at home and depend on their parents.

In fact, women are better with money in general, as they are less likely to pile up credit card debt, more likely to save for retirement, and more likely to measure their investments carefully.

10. Women Have Stronger Hearts
Women are less likely to develop cardiovascular issues than men are, and become at risk for them 10 years later, in their 70s and 80s, 10 to 20 years later than when men typically have to start worrying about them.

Did you know that science and data had so many reasons to support why it’s great to be a women?

Feel free to share with your family and friends and enjoy every minute of being the Goddess that you are!
